This Privacy Policy describes how Teez, Inc. ("Teez", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and discloses information in connection with the Teez AI Underwriting service. It applies to the service as a whole, specifically:
app.teez.live, which shares the same account and data.teez.live.Teez AI Underwriting is a commercial real estate underwriting tool. It reads deal documents you provide — offering memoranda, trailing-twelve financials, rent rolls and similar — extracts the figures from them, and writes those figures into your Excel model. Understanding that flow is the key to understanding this policy: the documents and spreadsheet content you put into Teez are the core of what we process.
| Category | What it is | Why we have it |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Your email address, password (stored only as a salted hash — we never see or store it in readable form), and any name you supply. | To create your account, authenticate you in the add-in and the web app, and contact you about the service. |
| Deal documents | Files you upload — offering memoranda, T12s, rent rolls, leases and similar — together with the text and figures extracted from them. | This is the product's function: to read these documents and underwrite from them. |
| Spreadsheet content | Cell values, ranges, formulas and sheet structure from the workbook you have open, sent from the add-in when you ask the agent to act. | So the agent can understand your model's layout and write values into the right cells without breaking your formulas. |
| Deal and session records | The deals you create, your conversations with the agent, actions it took, and the outputs it produced. | To maintain your workspace between sessions and give you an auditable record of where each number came from. |
| Technical and usage data | IP address, browser or Office host and version, timestamps, error logs and diagnostic events. | Security, abuse prevention, debugging and reliability. |
| Website analytics | Aggregate visit data collected via Google Analytics on teez.live. |
To understand which pages are useful. This runs on our marketing website only — not inside the Excel add-in. |
We do not collect payment card details. If and when you pay for Teez, card data is handled by our payment processor and never reaches our servers.
The add-in requests the ReadWriteDocument permission from Microsoft Office. That permission is what allows Teez to read your spreadsheet and write results back into it.
In practice this means:
We use the information described above to:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your deal documents or model content with other customers, and we do not use them for advertising.
Teez uses large language models to read documents and generate underwriting output. To do this, the contents of your documents and relevant spreadsheet context are transmitted to our AI provider, Anthropic, through its commercial API.
Under the terms on which we access that API, your content is processed solely to return a result to us, and is not used to train the provider's models. We do not train any model of our own on your deal documents or workbook content.
AI output can be wrong. Teez is an underwriting aid, not a substitute for your own review — please see section 6 of the End User License Agreement.
We rely on a small number of vendors to run the service. Each processes data only on our instructions and for the purposes below.
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication, database and file storage | Account records, deal data, uploaded documents |
| Anthropic | AI document parsing and agent reasoning | Document contents, spreadsheet context |
| Vercel | Application and add-in hosting | Request metadata, technical logs |
| Google Analytics | Website analytics (teez.live only) | Aggregate visit data |
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights and safety of Teez, our customers or others. If Teez is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Data is stored on infrastructure located in the United States. If you access Teez from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there.
We protect information with measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, access controls that isolate each customer's data to their own account, hashed credential storage, and restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify affected users without undue delay if a breach affecting personal information occurs.
When you close your account, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal information and deal content within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to meet a legal obligation. To request deletion, email support@teez.live.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Residents of California, the EEA and the UK have specific statutory rights along these lines.
You can exercise any of these by emailing support@teez.live. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them. You may also delete individual deals and their documents yourself from within the product at any time.
If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we have not handled your information properly, you have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
Deal documents frequently contain information about people who are not Teez users — tenants named on a rent roll, for instance. Where we process such information, we do so as a processor acting on your instructions, and you remain responsible for having the right to provide it to us. We do not use that information for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
Teez is a professional tool intended for business use. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will give you notice by email or through the product before they take effect. Continued use of Teez after a change takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
